Run your own marathon
Life is not a race against others. It is a marathon you run on your own track, at your own pace, toward your own finish line.
In a marathon, nobody wins by sprinting the first kilometre. The runners who finish are the ones who know their own pace and keep going.
Social media makes us look at other people’s races all day. Someone bought a car. Someone raised funding. Someone is travelling the world. Slowly, we start running their race instead of ours. We feel late, slow, and behind.
But you cannot be behind in a race that is only yours. Your starting point is different. Your track is different. Your finish line is different. Comparing yourself to someone on another track is like a runner in Meerut checking his time against a runner in Mumbai.
Being part of your own marathon means three things. Know where your finish line is. Know your own pace and respect it. And when you get tired, slow down, but do not stop.
I am still running mine. Some days are fast, some days are slow. But I am on my own track, and every step is mine.
